“记忆的味道”之“家乡的年俗”

生活中的味道变幻无穷，香甜苦辣，

但记忆中家乡的味道总是独一无二，

在每个人心中久久萦绕，

在记忆深处散发着阵阵暖流，

一直流入我们的心底，

镌刻在灵魂之中。

本期“记忆的味道”家乡年俗篇，

让我们跟随2020级本科生叶淑妍同学，

探寻她不可磨灭的记忆，

一起来看看她讲述的嵊州年俗吧。

Many people have complained on the Internet that the atmosphere of Spring Festival is ebbing. No worries! Take a look at the Spring Festival in my hometown Shengzhou, a city located in Zhejiang Province and taking pride in its more than two-thousand-year history.

Of all the New Year traditions in Shengzhou, Yue Opera is at the top of the list. As one of the five major Chinese opera forms, Yue Opera originated in Shengzhou and was one of the first entries added to the national intangible cultural heritage list. During the Spring Festival, performers always present the “big show” on the opera stage from village to village. With its lyrical melodies, lively makeup, elaborate costumes and engrossing stories, Yue Opera performance never fails to draw a big crowd and gives a boost to the festive atmosphere.

Tasting delicious food is another highlight for the Spring Festival in Shengzhou. The home-made ‘eight-treasure rice pudding’ is never absent on New Year’s Eve.  Steamed with eight different ingredients, such as bean paste, nuts, and lotus seeds, the dish is not only famous for its excellence in color, aroma and taste, but also for its implication of auspicious wishes. People will also eat many special Shengzhou delicacies, such as Chongren stewed duck, Zaorou, Chaozhamian, Piaoshitou and Niangaopang（崇仁炖鸭；糟肉；炒榨面；瓢士头；年糕胖）. Starting from the second day of the Chinese New Year, Shengzhou people pay visits to relatives and friends. Every family treats guests with candied jujube tea, symbolizing their best wishes for a sweet life in the new year.

The opening of the Yue Opera Town in 2018 has provided local people another choice of celebrating the Spring Festival. Festive elements can be seen everywhere—lanterns, couplets, blessing cards and Chinese knots. Visitors can participate in a series of activities including tasting local cuisine, guessing lantern riddles, watching acrobatic and puppet shows. Besides, a great many specialty stores showcase some of Shengzhou's intangible cultural heritage, such as bamboo weaving, root carving and purple sand craftsmanship. In this way, the small town enables people to fully appreciate the charm of Shengzhou's Spring Festival and the local culture.  

As you can see, Shengzhou people are sketching out a beautiful life in the new era with the traditional flavor of the New Year.

嵊州

“湖月照我影，送我至剡溪。” 嵊州，一座千年古城，坐落于浙江，是越剧的发源地。每年春节，越剧表演者都会到戏台上表演“大戏”，营造出浓浓的节日气息。乡愁就是味觉上的思念，嵊州人在春节一定会品尝这些美食：糟肉、崇仁炖鸭、瓢士头、八宝饭、年糕胖、蜜枣茶。越剧小镇为当地人民提供了另一种过春节的选择。在这里游客可以品尝美食，猜灯谜，看杂技表演，看木偶戏，听越剧，了解各种嵊州的非物质文化遗产。这就是嵊州人的春节，他们正在用传统的年味勾画出新时代的美好生活。

讲述着家乡深藏的记忆。

记忆中的味道是漫长的，犹新的，它不如珍馐佳肴那般隆重，却被游子深深地藏在心灵深处，用一生的时间来品味，怀念，珍藏。因为它承载的是我们的过去，童年的嬉戏，家人的关爱，都连同记忆中的味道被深锁在心底，时刻温暖着我们的人生。
